A Prayer When You’re in Need
Dear Heavenly Father, rich in mercy, grace, and love. All-seeing, all-knowing, and all-powerful. You have promised to supply all my needs. And I come to you as your child in need.
I need your help. I acknowledge that I can’t do this on my own. But with you, nothing is impossible. And you hold me by my right hand and say that you are here to help me. You are always ready to help in times of trouble. You are where my help comes from. You are where my hope comes from. Your help is my only hope.
I need your wisdom. I acknowledge that I don’t have the answers. But from your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. You give wisdom generously to those who ask. When I seek your will in all I do and trust you with all my heart, not depending on my own understanding, you will direct my paths.
I need your strength. I acknowledge that I am weak, but you are strong. You do not grow tired or weary. You give strength to the weary and power to the weak. Your power is perfected in weakness. You renew my strength when I hope in you, so that I can soar on wings like eagles. So that I can run and not grow weary. So that I can walk and not faint.
I need your peace. I acknowledge that when I don’t have peace, I have turned my eyes away from you. For you have given me peace, but not as the world gives. You give peace that passes understanding. In this world I will have trouble, but you have overcome, so my heart need not be troubled. I am in you, and you are in me. And in you, I have peace.
Thank you, Father. Thank you for lending your ear, your shoulder, your hand, and your heart. Thank you for supplying all my needs. Thank you for never turning away your needy child.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
