Unshakable

Over the past several years, there have been many times when my world has been shaken and my faith tested. Times when I didn’t know if my faith would prove to be unshakable. I recall at one point even saying to my husband that perhaps my faith wasn’t as strong as I thought it was.

And there was some truth to that. Because each time the earth quaked beneath my feet, I learned to depend on God more and more. And in the process, my faith grew stronger. I then came to know this: 

You can’t have an unshakable faith if you’ve never been shaken.

For it’s in times of shaking that you come to know just how great is the Lord whose hand steadies you.

“I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”  Psalm‬ ‭16‬:‭8‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

“My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my hope is from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my refuge; I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6 (NASB)

“I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.” Psalm 63:8 (NLT)

“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13 (ESV)
