A Prayer When You Don’t Understand
When I don’t understand, God, help me lean not on my own understanding. Even when it doesn’t make sense, even when it shakes me to my core and brings me to my knees. Because on my knees is where You have my full surrender.
For here on my knees, I have come to the end of myself. And I give You all that I have and all that I am … what little is left of me. Strengthen what remains.
I place all my trust in You. I trust that Your way is better. Even though I can’t yet see, I trust You will work it all together for good. Because when it’s not good, that means You’re not done.
It’s not over until You say so, God. You are still in control. You will not fail. People fail, but You never will.
So I give You my heart. I give You my surrender. And I give You my praise.
My Stronghold. My Salvation. My Saving Grace. To You be all honor and glory and praise, forever and ever. Amen.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)
