At the End of Your Rope

At the End of Your Rope

There you are at the end of your rope, carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, and the world says, “Tie a knot and hang on!” But the problem with that is, sooner or later, either the rope will break from the weight of it all, or you will lose strength to hang on any longer.

Jesus offers a better way. With outstretched hand, Jesus calls, “Look up! Take my hand and let go of the rope. You’ve been trying to hang on for too long, let me lift you up. I know you’re weak, but I am not. Receive my strength. Why are you trying to carry the weight of the world when I hold the world in my hands? Let me carry it. I’ve got this, and I’ve got you. You’re so weary, come now, receive my rest. I have the rest that you need. Rest here with me. It’s going to be okay, you’ll see. Just trust in me, child. Trust in me.”

When you're at the end of your rope...

”Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.“ Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

”Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.“ 1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

”Come near to God and he will come near to you … Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.“ James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬, ‭10‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭30‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)
