Purpose Poems
As I shared on the Life Songs page, when I began writing my blog and established this website to house it in 2014, I didn't know at the time that this would later lead me to writing songs in 2021. And even though songs are essentially poems set to music, I didn't begin writing stand-alone poems until December 2022 - a Christmas poem as it were.
Christmas was when Jesus came down to earth and became God in human form - when He became like us. When He became God with us. When He came to experience every form of human suffering that we could ever experience.
So the fact that the first poem I ever wrote was on the topic of Christmas is just beautiful, because it was around that time when I came to understand to gift of suffering, as I wrote about in this blog post titled as such: The Gift of Suffering. And it is through suffering that I have come to know my purpose like never before.
Thus why I have named this category Purpose Poems - which also happens to correspond to my tagline: "Finding joy and purpose in everyday living." I created this tagline back in 2014, well before I ever knew that I would be adding this additional content to my website. But God knew. God knew all along.
And I pray that as you read my Purpose Poems, God will reveal to you the purposes that He's had for you all along as well.

Help Me
I'm not the only poet in my family - my dad wrote some poems too. Dad passed away on September 17, 2023, and I will be sharing some of my his works as I feel led, starting with the poem below. It’s really a prayer in poem form. And it along with the scriptures I’ve added at the end echo the cry of my heart and God’s response to meet me in my need today. What a privilege to still be able to hear my dad’s voice and to hear God’s voice through him...
