God Calls Us
Sometimes God calls us to uncomfortable places, so that He can be our source of comfort. Sometimes God calls us to unknown places, so that He can be more fully known. Sometimes God calls us to unimaginable places, so that He can do more than we could possibly imagine. “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) Excerpted from blog: https://chellimorrison.com/more-than-we-imagine/

I Stand In Your Presence
I stand in Your presence in the waiting I draw near to You right here I won’t be consumed with contemplating In You my fears all disappear ~ Lyrics from “Working in the Waiting” © 2023 Chelli Morrison ~ Song: https://chellimorrison.com/working-in-the-waiting/ Related Blog: https://chellimorrison.com/…/02/10/working-in-the-waiting/

If I Do Not Have Love
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others,…

The Goodness of the Lord
May our focus not only be in finding the good in a situation, but in finding the goodness of the Lord. He is our light and salvation, our stronghold, our safe dwelling place, our shelter, our protector, our helper, our deliverer, our redeemer, and our victory. He is faithful, and He is true. “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

Have You Heard
Have you heard, is what they say, have you heard the trouble that has come someone’s way? Oh yes, I’ve heard, I’ve heard it all before, and I’m not listening to it anymore ...

Don’t Miss Jesus
I guess there are some who aren’t sure what to make of the honesty and transparency of my posts. In my questioning, perhaps some have questioned my faith. We seem to have this idea that a person of strong faith doesn’t pose such questions. That a person of faith isn’t supposed to doubt, to question, to struggle, or to lament. Yet some people who are regarded as having great faith in the Bible did just that. People like Abraham, Moses, David, and even Job. I certainly haven’t been through what Job went through, but the past several years of my life have been marked with trials and hardships. And I…

In the Waiting
Earlier this week, I posted a song on Facebook that I wrote this past October. It began one day when my friend, Margie, texted me this line and said that it needed to be lyrics in a song, “I stand in your presence in the waiting.” I jokingly asked Margie if she was commissioning me, and she replied that she was. She said that as this came to mind, she envisioned me singing it.

Be Still
Sometimes it’s hard to keep going when you can’t see light at tunnel’s end. But you’re on this train ride nonetheless. Surely it can’t be much longer before you emerge from this tunnel into the light of day. And finally, you start to see it – the light just up ahead. Oh thank God, you’re almost there. But just when it’s within reach, a rockslide comes out of nowhere and blocks your exit. You’re forced to take a detour. Your spirits that had been raised become suddenly deflated. And it doesn’t happen just once, but over and over again. You‘re forced to take detour after detour, until your destination is…

God Had Other Plans
My parents didn’t plan to have a fourth child, but I came along to their surprise, for God had other plans. As a child, I was shy, but as I grew I’d find myself leading others, despite what I had in mind, because God had other plans ...
